Softball Recap: Clay Takes Down Menendez in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Clay walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Menendez Falcons 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Blue Devils have posted since March 7th.

Sadie Russo spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on 11 hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Grace Miller was excellent, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Kaelye Rouw, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Clay's record is now 15-10. As for Menendez, they moved to 10-11 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Clay nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
