Soccer Game Preview: Dixie County vs. Lafayette

Dixie County is 0-9-1 against Lafayette since December of 2018 but things could change on Monday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 5:00 p.m.

Dixie County fell victim to Bell and their airtight defense back in December of 2024. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lafayette). Everything went their way against Jefferson County two weeks ago as Lafayette made off with an 8-1 victory. Considering the Hornets have won six games by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lafayette has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those five contests. As for Dixie County, they now have a losing record at 1-2-1.

Dixie County suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Lafayette in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can Dixie County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
