Recap: Caldwell Academy vs. High Point Christian Academy Cougars
Caldwell Academy suffered their biggest defeat since November 14, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 65-16 defeat at the hands of High Point Christian Academy. Caldwell Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-6.
Kylie Torrence was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds for High Point Christian Academy. Torrence hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Forester, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Caldwell Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for High Point Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with that win, which was their 19th straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Caldwell Academy will square off against Triad Baptist Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for High Point Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Calvary Day School at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvary Day School is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
