League recap: Perkiomen climbs in state rankings with win

Perkiomen moved up to 347 from 423 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Freelance.

The win marks fourth in a row for the the Panthers.

Central Mountain's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Von Walker threw for 95 and one touchdown and Tyler Pavalko had 55 yards receiving. On the ground Walker chipped in 220 yards. Drew Alexander helped Central Mountain's passing attack out by catching three balls for 26 yards.

Central Mountain's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Walker has thrown for 354 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Cole Renninger has 21 catches for 322 yards. Walker also leads the league in rushing with 1041 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Academy of the New Church takes on Perkiomen. The Lions are currently in fourth, while Tom Calvario's team is in first.

The Wildcats led Freelance in scoring this week after putting up 40 points on Huntingdon. Walker in the win.
