Baseball Recap: Omaha South Sets Scoring Season-High Against Benson

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Omaha South). They blew past the Benson Bunnies 16-6 on Friday. The Packers haven't had any issues with the Bunnies recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Caleb Williams was incredible, firing off two home runs, four stolen bases, and four runs while going 5-for-5. Omaha South is undefeated when Williams posts one or more home runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Zane Carroll was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 3-for-3.

Williams wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Omaha South lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Omaha South's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Benson, they are on a 28-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coincidentally, Omaha South and Benson will both be playing Omaha Central the next time they take the field. The Bunnies will head out to face the Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Packers will play them later in the day, at 2:30 p.m.
