Basketball Recap: Grace Christian Takes a Loss

Grace Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 28th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Byne Christian Saints 62-30. The Crusader were down 46-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Grace Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Thad Shuler and Zechariah Griffith. Shuler posted 11 points, while Griffith scored nine points. The dominant performance gave Griffith a new career-high in points.

Landon Horne had a dynamite game for Byne Christian, going 9 for 17 en route to 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Darius Greene, who earned 12 points and three steals.

Grace Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Byne Christian, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-14.

When Grace Christian and Byne Christian next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Grace Christian will try to stop Bible Baptist Christian's six-game winning streak when the meet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Byne Christian will face off against CHESS Academy and their four-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st.
