Softball Recap: Karns City Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Karns City, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Redbank Valley Bulldogs on Monday. The Gremlins haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Addison Burrows spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ronni Radaker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

Karns City pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Redbank Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Karns City will face off against Knoch at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something the Gremlins surely won't give up without a fight. As for Redbank Valley, they will challenge East Forest/West Forest at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Fires at the right time seeing as the Fires are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
