Soccer Recap: Casteel Finds Home Pitch Redemption Against Maryvale

There's no place like home for Casteel, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Maryvale Panthers on Friday. Given the Colts' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Panthers are ranked 77th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Angelo Rana and Benjamin Vera scored both of Casteel's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Casteel is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5-3 record this season. As for Maryvale, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5-2.
