Basketball Recap: Labrae Piles Up the Points Against Garfield

A well-balanced attack led LaBrae over Garfield in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the LaBrae Vikings blew the Garfield G-Men out of the water with a 71-43 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Vikings had established a 24 point advantage.

Despite the loss, Garfield still got an impressive performance from Cade Rock, who posted eight points and eight boards. Rock is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Hill, who earned 11 points and six boards.

LaBrae is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Garfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-3.

LaBrae will challenge Newton Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Newton Falls sitting on three straight victories and LaBrae on four. As for Garfield, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 77-42 defeat against Crestwood on the 18th.
