Football Game Recap: Covington vs. Nelson County

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between Covington and Nelson County. Covington steamrollered Nelson County 56-14. That's another feather in the cap for Covington, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Covington's offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 35 first-half points. Nelson County wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 7 to make it 35-7 heading into the break. The Covington defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the game. The win bumped Covington's record up to 3-2. The defeat dropped Nelson County's record to 1-5.

Covington will look to defend their home turf next week against Narrows at 7:00 PM. The squad will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last. Nelson County will be playing at home against Madison County at at 7:30 PM.
