If Rosary Academy was riding high fresh off their 6-0 takedown of Coronado on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Rosary Academy fell just short of the Salpointe Catholic Lancers by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Royals' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Ava Phillips was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk).

At the plate, K'Lene Gutierrez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

Rosary Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Salpointe Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
