A classic North v. South matchup is on the schedule. The North Stars will challenge the South Spartans at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
North is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Mojave 22-1 on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Stars as they're now sitting on three straight.
Mollie McKinley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). McKinley was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katherine Leask, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Natalie De Leon, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and four runs.
North always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .721. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, South entered their tilt with Mira Monte on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 26-4 margin over the Lions. That 22 run margin sets a new team best for the Spartans this season.
Zowey Estrada was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. London Terrance also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
South pushed their record up to 17-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for North, their record now sits at 16-8.
North might still be hurting after the 17-7 loss they got from South when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Stars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
