Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Liberty's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Liberty hadn't done well against Lebanon Trail recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Redhawks walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Trail Blazers. This was a revenge game for the Redhawks: when they faced off against the Trail Blazers back in March, they had to take a 11-1 loss.

Liberty let Madison Terry and Ainslee Palmer run wild. Terry scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Palmer went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The dominant performance also gave Terry a new career-high in doubles (two). Anna Reeves was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Lebanon Trail, they moved to 10-4-1 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Liberty is set to square off against their familiar foe Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lebanon Trail will challenge rival Frisco at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
