Basketball Recap: Hilmar Comes Up Short

Hilmar played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Patterson Tigers an easy 61-39 win.

Despite the loss, Hilmar still got an impressive performance from Aaron Solorio, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 13 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Solorio has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Xavier Silveira was another key player, putting up eight points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Patterson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jace Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Troyce Harrison, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 18 points and four steals.

Hilmar's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Patterson, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-6.

Hilmar didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-53 win against St. Vincent de Paul on the 26th. As for Patterson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-42 loss against Bella Vista on the 26th.
