Illini West is 9-1 against Mendon Unity since February of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Chargers will be taking part in a tournament against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Illini West didn't have too much trouble with Seymour as they won 62-44. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Chargers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Indians are ranked 580th).

Wesley Robertson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double with 22 points and nine boards. Grady Blue was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mendon Unity, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They snuck past Liberty with a 58-54 win on Tuesday.

Illini West pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points over those games. As for Mendon Unity, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Illini West couldn't quite finish off Mendon Unity in their previous meeting back in December of 2025 and fell 52-50. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
