Baseball Recap: Payson Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Payson had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over Tournament Opponent. While the Longhorns didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-20-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Nolan Keeney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
