Volleyball Recap: Ava Egel Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Princeton

Sherrard won the last time they faced Princeton and things went their way on Saturday too. Sherrard walked away with a 2-0 victory over Princeton.

While Sherrard won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-16.

Sherrard's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ava Egel led the charge by getting eight digs and seven assists. Those seven assists gave Egel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Laney Slattery, who had five digs and three aces.

Sherrard's win bumped their record up to 3-0-1. As for Princeton, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Sherrard didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Mendota on the 30th. As for Princeton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Serena on the 30th.
