Football Recap: Port Jefferson Falls to Bayport-Blue Point in First Game of Season

Port Jefferson unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Bayport-Blue Point Phantoms on Saturday, falling 54-7. The Royals have struggled against the Phantoms recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Port Jefferson will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Greenport-Southold-Mattituck at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Bayport-Blue Point, they will challenge Shoreham-Wading River at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
