The Governor Thomas Johnson Patriots are on the road again on Tuesday and plays the North Hagerstown Hubs at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Governor Thomas Johnson struggled with assists on Friday (Smithsburg had 11 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Arianna Opazo, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Nso, who scored four points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, North Hagerstown's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Linganore at home and fell 87-25. While losing is never fun, North Hagerstown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Linganore is ranked 59th).
Governor Thomas Johnson has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for North Hagerstown, they dropped their record down to 3-14 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
Governor Thomas Johnson was able to grind out a solid win over North Hagerstown in their previous meeting back in January, winning 46-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Governor Thomas Johnson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
