Basketball Game Preview: Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors vs. Sonoraville Phoenix

The Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors will take on the Sonoraville Phoenix at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They secured an 85-79 W over Union County on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Panthers are ranked 56th).

Meanwhile, Sonoraville didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Coahulla Creek on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 62-58 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Phoenix.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Sonoraville, they pushed their record up to 8-11 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe was able to grind out a solid win over Sonoraville in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 71-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
