Baseball Game Preview: El Rancho Dons vs. Whittier Cardinals

For the second straight game, El Rancho will face off against Whittier. The Dons will venture away from home to take on the Cardinals at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

El Rancho's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Whittier.

Not much got past Alex Aparicio, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Whittier off the board. Aparicio also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because El Rancho is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Alexander Moraza was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Octavio Urbina, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

El Rancho has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Whittier, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17.
