Football Game Preview: Jones Longhorns vs. Crooked Oak Ruf-Nex

The Jones Longhorns will venture away from home to face off against the Crooked Oak Ruf-Nex at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jones has five straight wins, Crooked Oak has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Jones was fully in charge, breezing past Millwood 59-19. Fans of the Longhorns have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Acyn Hansen had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 119 yards and two scores on only eight carries, while also throwing for 243 yards and four touchdowns. His longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Hunter Purvis, who picked up 122 receiving yards and three TDs.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Crooked Oak's offense. They took a blow against Oklahoma Christian on Friday, falling 56-0. While losing is never fun, the Ruf-Nex can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Saints are ranked 58th).

Jones' victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Crooked Oak, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
