Softball Recap: Wilson Bulldogs vs. Fleetwood Tigers
Wilson put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Fleetwood Tigers as the Wilson Bulldogs made off with a 14-3 victory. Winning may never get old, but Wilson sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Meghan Farrell made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Farrell was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Kaya Werley was incredible, firing off three home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Tatum Werley, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with a home run, a stolen base, and two RBI.
Wilson's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Fleetwood, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Wilson will look to defend their home field on Friday against Conrad Weiser at 4:15 p.m. Wilson is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 11.7 runs per game this season. As for Fleetwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Reading at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
