Basketball Recap: Roy Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Roy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 64-52 to the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Roy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Boston Greenhalgh, who posted 16 points and three steals, and Anthony Parker, who shot 55% from the field en route to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakob Hamblin, who put up two points.

Solomon Krommenhoek was nothing short of spectacular for Maple Mountain: he went 10-for-15 on his way to 26 points. Another player making a difference was Britton Richmond, who had seven points and six boards.

Looking ahead, Roy will square off against Emery at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Maple Mountain, they will head out on the road to challenge Kearns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
