Recap: Nelson Island Islanders vs. Nuniwarmiut Herders
You can't lose the matchup if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Nelson Island Islanders's strategy against the Nuniwarmiut Herders on Thursday. Nelson Island was the clear victor by a 46-23 margin over Nuniwarmiut. Nelson Island pushed the score to 36-16 by the end of the third, a deficit Nuniwarmiut had little chance of recovering from.
Nelson Island's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bethany Lincoln, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lincoln has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Angaiak, who scored 11 points.
The win got Nelson Island back to even at 2-2. As for Nuniwarmiut, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Nelson Island on the road again on Friday and play against Chaputnguak at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for Nuniwarmiut, they will be playing at home against Ayaprun at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
