Baseball Recap: Three Straight Road Wins for Salem

It was a proper cat-fight when Salem took on Farina South Central on Wednesday. The Wildcats walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Cougars. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

Salem saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cody Beard, who went 1-for-3 with two runs. Beard has become a key player for the Wildcats: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 9-10 otherwise. Another was Keaton Gullion, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Salem pushed their record up to 11-11 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Farina South Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
