Football Recap: Downey Knights vs. Gregori Jaguars

Downey won the last time they faced Gregori, and things went their way on Friday too. Everything went the Downey Knights' way against the Gregori Jaguars as the Downey Knights made off with a 61-35 victory. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won four contests by 26 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Downey to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Lamb, who threw for 302 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes. Joseph Ramirez was in the mix too, providing Downey with two touchdowns.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Downey's defensive line and their four sacks. Noah Sacuskie was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up twohimself. Sacuskie is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season.

When it comes to explaining why Gregori lost, don't look at Emmanuel Vasquez. Despite the final result, he threw for 280 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 48 yards and two touchdowns. Vasquez has become a key player for Gregori: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-5 otherwise. Kaeden Chanthamany also helped out as he racked up 119 receiving yards.

The win made it two in a row for Downey and bumps their season record up to 9-1. As for Gregori, they moved to 4-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
