Softball Recap: Eastern Wayne Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

While Eastern Wayne put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Beddingfield. The Warriors came out on top against the Bruins by a score of 5-0. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now won six in a row.

Not much got past Mallory Reed, who gave up just two hits and racked up 20 Ks to keep Beddingfield off the board. Reed has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Hannah Lee was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Sembly, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Eastern Wayne pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Beddingfield, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern Wayne will welcome American Leadership Academy-Johnston at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Beddingfield, they will host Southern Wayne at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Saints have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.88 runs per game on average), something the Bruins will no doubt try to take advantage of.
