Basketball Recap: Elk Grove Comes Up Short

Elk Grove lost against Sheldon two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Elk Grove Thundering Herd took a 69-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sheldon Huskies. While losing is never fun, the Thundering Herd can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Huskies are ranked 77th).

This is the second loss in a row for Elk Grove and nudges their season record down to 17-10. As for Sheldon, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Sheldon beat Elk Grove by a score of 69-61 on Wednesday.
