Soccer Recap: Southland Academy Comes Up Short

Southland Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 5-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tiftarea Academy Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Tiftarea Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 back in March.

Southland Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Tiftarea Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.

Southland Academy and Tiftarea Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Raiders (ranked 354th) will meet Georgia Christian (ranked 97th) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Tiftarea Academy will take on Deerfield-Windsor at 5:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (315 vs. 122).
