Basketball Recap: Community Charter Takes a Loss

Community Charter lost against Triumph Charter last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Community Charter Titans took a blow against the Triumph Charter Jaguars, falling 75-39. The Titans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-15.

Despite the defeat, Community Charter saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Edem Ladzepko dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten boards. That was a full 69.2% of Community Charter's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Amescua, who scored eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Community Charter and nudges their season record down to 1-13. As for Triumph Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Lakeview Charter the next time they take the court. Triumph Charter will head out to face Lakeview Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Community Charter will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
