Volleyball Recap: Durham Academy Starts off Right with Win over Riverside-Durham

Durham Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Riverside-Durham Pirates as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-18, 25-4.

Durham Academy was led to victory by Alice Chen and Nafas Hayati. Chen had eight digs and three aces, while Hayati had eight digs.

Riverside-Durham's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Durham Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Wesleyan Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Riverside-Durham, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Cary on the 18th.
