Baseball Recap: Flushing Comes Up Short

Flushing extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-3. They lost 11-1 to the Francis Lewis Patriots. That's two games in a row now that the Red Devils have lost by exactly ten runs.

As for Francis Lewis, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 10.7 runs this season.

For Francis Lewis' part, they got a great performance from Zye Robinson as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Jovi Chau-Gandelman was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luca Rosa, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

While Flushing had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
