Blue Ridge had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.8 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Elk Lake Warriors a 2-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for Blue Ridge: when they faced off against Elk Lake back in September, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Blue Ridge now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Elk Lake, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9-1 record this season.
