The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Northwest Cabarrus nor Lake Norman Charter made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Trojans walked away with a 6-2 win over the Knights. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Haylee Ellis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Tatum Krolak was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Kortlyn Ballard also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Northwest Cabarrus' record is now 8-9. As for Lake Norman Charter, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-12.
Coincidentally, Northwest Cabarrus and Lake Norman Charter will both be playing Carson the next time they take the field. The Knights will head out to face the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Trojans will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
