Preview: Prescott Badgers vs. Temecula Valley Golden Bears
After both having extra time off, the Prescott Badgers and the Temecula Valley Golden Bears will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 9:30 a.m. on December 27th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Prescott scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Wednesday. They took down Tempe 77-61. Given Prescott's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Tempe is ranked 241st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Uriah Tenette was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 47 points and 11 rebounds. The game was his ninth in a row with at least ten points. Costa Contreras was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Temecula Valley can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game last Friday. They walked away with a 74-61 victory over Summit. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Prescott's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Temecula Valley, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
