Softball Game Preview: Denbigh Patriots vs. Churchland Truckers

The Denbigh Patriots will face off against the Churchland Truckers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Denbigh's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matches, but Thursday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Menchville hit Denbigh with a six-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Patriots lost 11-0 to the Monarchs.

Meanwhile, Churchland came up short against Granby on Friday, falling 13-3. The Truckers haven't had much luck with the Comets recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Churchland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Autumn Thompson, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Thompson has hit this season.

Denbigh's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Churchland, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

Denbigh suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Churchland in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
