Basketball Recap: Stringtown Takes a Loss

Stringtown was the 46-43 winner over Tushka when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Stringtown Tigers were outmatched by the Tushka Tigers and fell 60-31. Stringtown's loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

It was another big night for Cleat Zike, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 25 points for Tushka. That makes it five consecutive games in which Zike has scored at least a third of Tushka's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Creek Alford, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Stringtown's record is now 4-7. As for Tushka, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stringtown will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Colbert at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Tushka also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Caney at 8:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025. Tushka is facing Caney at the right time seeing as Caney is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
