Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Comes Up Short

Cornerstone Christian lost against Flanagan/Woodland back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cornerstone Christian Cyclones had to suffer through a 73-32 loss at the hands of the Flanagan/Woodland Falcons. The Cyclones were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-11.

Despite the loss, Cornerstone Christian still got an impressive performance from Kate Hancock, who posted 11 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Flanagan/Woodland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ella Derossett, who went 13 for 22 on her way to 28 points and six steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Derossett has scored at least a third of Flanagan/Woodland's points. Emma Palaschak was another key player, going 9 of 19 to rack up 23 points and five steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Cornerstone Christian and nudges their season record down to 7-11. As for Flanagan/Woodland, their victory bumped their record up to 8-17.

Cornerstone Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-26 loss against Arthur-Okaw Christian on the 6th. As for Flanagan/Woodland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 46-38 defeat against Lexington on the 6th.
