Softball Preview: Spring Hill Panthers vs. Carthage Bulldogs

Spring Hill and Carthage are an even 3-3 against one another since February of 2015, but likely not for long. The Spring Hill Panthers will be playing at home against the Carthage Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Spring Hill is out to stop a nine-game streak of losses at home.

On Tuesday, it was close, but Spring Hill sidestepped Center for a 10-9 win.

Kyndall Witt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Witt was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other pitching news, Abbye McFaul tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits.

Back at the plate, Khloe Saxon was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Aubreigh Whiddon was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with two runs and a triple.

Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Carthage had to settle for a 5-4 defeat against Henderson on Tuesday. Carthage has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Spring Hill's victory bumped their record up to 3-23. As for Carthage, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-11-1.
