Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Madison Owens and Danyka Decaria Lead Madonna to Victory

Madonna had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Heartland Christian Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Dons have posted since September 10th.

Madonna wouldn't go down easily and took Heartland Christian into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-17, 23-25, 16-25, 15-12.

Madonna was led to victory by Danyka DeCaria and Madison Owens. DeCaria had 13 digs, while Owens had 23 digs, 14 kills, and three aces. Owens is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last 15 games she's played. Lacy Quering also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Madonna's record now sits at 19-8-1. As for Heartland Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

Looking ahead, Madonna will take on Conotton Valley in a tournament on Saturday. As for Heartland Christian, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Wood County Christian on the 9th.
