Softball Recap: Burlington Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Burlington and Wakefield Memorial meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Red Devils fell 7-3 to the Warriors. If the Red Devils were looking for revenge after losing 11-9 to the Warriors when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Burlington dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Wakefield Memorial, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burlington will venture away from home to square off against Westport at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wakefield Memorial, they will square off against Andover at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
