Soccer Game Preview: Moapa Valley vs. Virgin Valley

The Moapa Valley Pirates will square off against the Virgin Valley Bulldogs at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Moapa Valley took a five-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Equipo Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pirates' defense stepped up to hand the Yeti a 1-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result kept Moapa Valley happy, as they haven't lost a game since September 12th.

Meanwhile, Virgin Valley and The Meadows School finished up their contest with a 0-0 draw on Wednesday. The outcome might've been different if Yuliana Marquez hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited her ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.

Moapa Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-4-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five matches. With that draw, Virgin Valley's record moves to 5-3-5.
