Softball Recap: Creek Wood Comes Up Short

Creek Wood and Gibbs squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Creek Wood had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 1-0. The Red Hawks have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Elizabeth Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

Creek Wood's loss dropped their record down to 31-16. As for Gibbs, they are on a roll lately: they've won 25 of their last 26 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 40-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Creek Wood nor Gibbs have any future games scheduled.
