Softball Recap: Stanton Comes Up Short

Stanton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 21-6 to the Lamesa Tornadoes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Buffaloes of the 9-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.

Peyton Little and Alessandra Glover did some serious damage despite the final result: Little scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Glover scored a run while going 1-for-2. What's more, Glover posted two RBI, the most she's had over her last eight contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbygail Campos, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Stanton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9-1. As for Lamesa, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Stanton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-5 win against Brownfield on the 11th. As for Lamesa, they have also already played their next game, a 16-1 loss against Coahoma on the 11th.
