Recap: Arthur-Okaw Christian Conquering Riders vs. Unity Christian Lions
The Arthur-Okaw Christian Conquering Riders won the last time they faced the Unity Christian Lions, and things went their way on Monday too. Arthur-Okaw Christian enjoyed a cozy 48-31 win over Unity Christian. Given Arthur-Okaw Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while Unity Christian is ranked 482nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Arthur-Okaw Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Herschberger, who scored 12 points along with 5 steals. Herschberger is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addisyn Erwin, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Arthur-Okaw Christian and bumps their season record up to 6-2. As for Unity Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Arthur-Okaw Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Cornerstone Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Unity Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] at 7:30 p.m. on December 7th.
