Baseball Recap: Paxton-Buckley-Loda Has No Trouble Against Clifton Central

Paxton-Buckley-Loda hadn't beaten Clifton Central on the road since May 7, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Comets with a sharp 13-5 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Tyler Cole was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Paxton-Buckley-Loda is 6-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-9 otherwise. Cole was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Paxton-Buckley-Loda got a massive performance out of Bryar Cosgrove, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Cosgrove is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 9-11 when he doesn't). Charles Cambridge was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda's record is now 13-11. As for Clifton Central, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-10.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clifton Central, they will challenge Bishop McNamara at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
