Basketball Recap: Indian Trail Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Gianna Greno and Lily Meo + How To Watch

If Indian Trail was riding high fresh off their 57-35 takedown of Kenosha Bradford on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hawks took a 61-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Waterford Wolverines on Saturday. The Hawks lost against the Wolverines in their previous head to head back in November of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 72-44 score last time.

Despite the loss, Indian Trail had strong showings from Lily Meo, who went 8-for-9 on her way to 23 points, and Gianna Greno, who shot 75% from the field to rack up 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tori Judon, who posted ten points and seven boards.

Waterford was led to victory by Sophia Milosh and Jossilyn Allen. Milosh dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Allen had 15 points. Milosh has become a key player for the Wolverines: the team is undefeated when she posts at least eight boards, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was McKinley Karpinski, who earned ten points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Indian Trail fell to 5-1. As for Waterford, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Indian Trail will take on Kenosha Tremper in a holiday battle at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a five-game losing streak. Waterford and Elkhorn will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
