Basketball Recap: Newport Central Catholic Comes Up Short

Newport Central Catholic lost against Highlands back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds took a hard 62-43 fall against the Highlands Bluebirds.

Newport Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Highlands, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newport Central Catholic will square off against Dixie Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Dixie Heights will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Newport Central Catholic surely won't give up without a fight. As for Highlands, they will head out to face off against Ryle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Highlands knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Ryle likes a good challenge.
