Basketball Recap: Drayton/Valley-Edinburg Comes Up Short

Drayton/Valley-Edinburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 88-26 loss at the hands of the Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg Patriots. The matchup marked the Titans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Drayton/Valley-Edinburg lost, don't look at Jaelyn Johnson. Despite the final result, she posted seven points and ten rebounds. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played.

Drayton/Valley-Edinburg's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Drayton/Valley-Edinburg will challenge Midway/Minto at 7:15 p.m. on January 16th. As for Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg, they will head out to take on Grafton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
